Orientation on Implementation of Catch-Up Friday

January 11, 2024 - The school principal's office of Pitogo Community High School (PCHS) issued a School Memorandum for an Urgent Faculty Meeting today to orient the teachers on the implementation of Catch-Up Friday starting tomorrow - January 12, 2024.

In accordance with Department of Education (DepEd) Memorandum no. 1, series 2024, dated January 10, 2024, Fridays are designated for Catch-Up Friday, focusing on the National Reading Program (NRP), Values Education, Peace Education, and Health Education.

Catch-Up Fridays serve as a learning mechanism aimed at reinforcing foundational, social, and other pertinent skills essential for realizing the objectives of the basic education curriculum. This initiative by DepEd plays a crucial role in the National Reading and Mathematics Programs, which are integral subprograms of the NLRP outlined in DO O 13, s. 2023.

Mrs. Rosario M. Bulfa, PCHS Officer-in-Charge expresses optimism that the activity will be executed smoothly and successfully tomorrow, the first day of this program. She believes in its success through the inherent flexibility of each teacher and emphasizing the collaborative effort of everyone for the benefit of learners and the school.

The meeting also covered the upcoming second-quarter exams scheduled for January 22-23 and the In-Service Training for teachers set to take place from January 24-30, 2024.
