In a bid to fortify their knowledge and skills, teachers and staff at Pitogo Community High School (PCHS) engaged in a School-based Gender and Development (GAD) Seminar on November 24, 2023. The seminar, facilitated through a Learning Action (LAC) Session held within the school premises, focused on the "Personal Qualities of Good Best Teachers" and the "Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers."

Dr. Lualhati Dotado, a distinguished speaker, Registered Guidance Counselor, and Professor at Holy Child Jesus College in Gumaca, Quezon, spearheaded the seminar. Her insightful discourse left a lasting impact on the minds and hearts of the teachers and staff present. Dr. Dotado emphasized the virtues of humility, patience, and dedication, underscoring the importance of maintaining these qualities to sustain the excellence of educators.

The seminar provided a platform for an enriching discussion, where educators actively absorbed the wisdom imparted by Dr. Dotado. Her words resonated deeply, encouraging a collective commitment among the teachers and staff to embody the qualities essential for effective teaching.

The focus on the personal qualities of good teachers served as a reminder of the transformative power of educators in shaping the lives of their students. Dr. Dotado's emphasis on humility and dedication underscored the profound impact teachers can have on the learning journey of their students.

Furthermore, the exploration of the "Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers" highlighted the significance of ethical conduct in the teaching profession. Teachers were reminded of their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, reinforcing the school's commitment to fostering a positive and ethical learning environment.

The success of the seminar attests to the dedication of PCHS in providing continuous professional development opportunities for its educators. By integrating such programs, the school ensures its teaching staff remains equipped with the knowledge and values necessary to nurture a dynamic and inclusive educational community. #
